WATERSPORTS

Kayaking (or paddling) invites everyone to connect with the water in a personal and peaceful way. Seated at water level, you’ll glide silently across the surface, taking in nature from a whole new perspective. Hear the gentle splash of your paddle, spot fish beneath your kayak, and quietly observe birds and wildlife along the shoreline — all without disrupting the environment.

Because kayaks are self-powered and quiet, they offer a truly mindful, immersive experience. It’s a chance to slow down, unplug, and feel the natural rhythm of the water.

At JPYC, we offer on-the-water instruction and off-the-water workshops for paddlers of all levels. Whether you’re just getting started or have years of experience, you’re welcome here!

JPYC offers a variety of paddlecraft for member use, including two tandem sit-on-top kayaks, two single sit-in kayaks, and two hybrid paddleboard-kayaks that can be used either standing or seated. For members who own their own kayaks, the club also provides a limited number of storage racks, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Use of club paddlecraft and storage racks is available to members only—so the first step is joining the club!
